All scripts on this website, unless noted, are free to download and perform.
No royalties, copyright fees, deposits - nothing at all. Just read through the descriptions of scripts to find something that suits your needs, download the script and get rehearsing. All absolutely free.

and let us know where and when you produced Alex's script, listing the director, cast and theatre (including city, state and country) if a play - or where it will be screened, if it is a film script.
You are also welcome to send production photos if some are taken, for possible use on the website.

About Alex Broun
Born in Sydney, Australia, Alex has enjoyed considerable success in theatre, TV and film as a writer, actor and director and worked extensively as an activist for refugee rights with the Refugee Action Coalition (RAC).
One of the world's leading ten minute playwrights, Alex has had over 70 ten minute plays produced in over 600 productions all over the world in countries including Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, UK and the USA. To date his work has been produced in 17 different countries.
Recently he has had short plays produced in Hungary, Romania and Concepcion in Chile where a play was used by a local theatre group "to bring some joy to the community" after the devastating earthquakes.
Some of his plays were recently translated into Spanish and sent down to the trapped miners in Chile for them to read while they waited to be rescued and a collection of his short plays was translated into Persian and published in Iran.
His most popular play 10,000 cigarettes has had over 100 productions across the globe including being produced in 42 states of the USA.
His longer plays have also been performed around the world including South Africa, UK, USA and around Australia including at La Mama, the Old Fitzroy, Chapel Off Chapel, the Darlinghurst Theatre, Newtown Theatre, the Brisbane Powerhouse, the Arts Centre in Melbourne and Belvoir Street.
He has had plays workshopped and developed by the Sydney Theatre Company, Playwriting Australia and the Australian National Playwright's Conference as well as being a former winner of the Sydney Theatre Company Young Playwright's Scheme and Inscription (twice).
He has also twice received funding from the Australian Film Commission as well as recently having numerous short screenplays filmed.
He has been heavily involved in the development and growth of Short+Sweet, the largest ten minute play festival in the world that currently plays in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, the Central Coast of NSW, Gippsland, Rockhampton, Newcastle, Auckland, Singapore, Malaysia and soon Delhi.
